—————— HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PART OF SITMA?
For 15 years. I started working here in 2006.
—————— What did you study?
Right after I completed my electrotechnical studies, I started working as a Field Engineer, dealing with technical service in Italy and abroad. My ambition led me to enroll in a university Management Engineering course at the age of 23, but I wasn’t able to finish the training because I prioritized my job. However, I subsequently obtained a Masters in Business Administration at Bologna Business School, which allowed me to fill the current role of After Sales Manager.
—————— What do you do at Sitma?
I fully take care of customers’ needs. I approve requests and coordinate a team consisting of technical experts and specialists from the service promotion department. The main goal is to satisfy the customer’s needs, establishing a partnership aimed at improving their production and performance, which strengthens Sitma’s image on the international market.
—————— What is the most stimulating part of your job? What is your contribution to Stima?
My job has many stimulating aspects because I can handle a range of issues, from technical and production matters to sales and strategy. Automation has always been a passion of mine, since I was a child. I basically grew up professionally in Sitma, and I’ve always transmitted enthusiasm and responsibility for what I do to my colleagues. I’ve gained direct experience with customers all over the world, working side by side with them and learning the different cultures and business mentalities. This has allowed me to keep an open mind and see things from different perspectives. Over the years, I’ve learned a combination of problem-solving, creative thinking and stress management skills that I share daily with my colleagues and clients.
—————— What is your connection to the company? What values do you share, and which should be the company’s focus?
Sitma gave me the opportunity to grow professionally and experience the company under different roles. This gave me the motivation to always give my best and to achieve new and more stimulating goals.
Sitma’s strength rests in its ability to get back into the game inspired by its own history and the power of its human capital as a driver for innovation. I find it hard to compare Sitma to a single working environment. I would rather compare it to a big family with which I share all our values, especially partnership, an ethical approach and passion for what we do.
—————— What do you do in your spare time?
I love to be active. I spend my little free time doing sports, “remembering my golden years as an athlete in the 800 meters” and helping my partner train.
—————— How would you describe yourself? Do you have a motto, and if so, what?
I am an ambitious and focused person, and I try to convey enthusiasm and good humor. My motto is pretty predictable: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
—————— The big question of the moment is Covid-19 and Sitma: What has changed? What challenges did you face, and how did you face them? Is there a positive side to the situation?
Obviously the health situation had a significant impact on our normal routines. It brought about a completely different approach to everyday life, while making us understand what’s important and breaking down barriers related to distance. It pushed us to reinvent our approach and find new methods for working and for digitization. This change has brought about a different, more creative and analytical way of thinking. I admit that initially it was not at all easy. We found ourselves facing stressful situations that also involved health problems of colleagues working in other countries, and also closer to home. There wasn’t time to understand which direction to take. However, the situation generated change that otherwise would not have been possible: the ability to take responsibility and work effectively from home. Now, we need to to maintain and improve this approach.
