Paper captures people’s attention by offering many graphic customisation options that make paper packaging a phenomenal advertising and communication tool, thereby meeting consumers’ requests for an environmental focus.
The 20th Monitoring Report (2016-2020 European Declaration on Paper Recycling) recently published by CEPI – the pan-European association representing the forest fibre and paper industry – proves how recycling of paper and cardboard is a well-established and effective approach that is gradually and constantly expanding throughout Europe, with a far higher growth rate compared to consumption.
Plus, according to CEPI's 2020 Key Statistics, report, direct CO2 emissions produced by the Cellulose and Paper Industry dropped over the last year (2020/2019) only by 7.1% and over the last decade (2020/2010) they went down by 23.5%, against a constant increase in the recycling rate of paper in Europe, which went from 68.5% in 2010 to 73.9% in 2020.
