—————— How long have you worked at Sitma?
I joined the Sitma family in February 2018, so it’s been more than two and a half years.
—————— What’s your educational and professional background?
After I graduated from my hometown’s liceo scientifico, or science high school, I decided to go straight into the working world, specifically in the field of industrial automation. Later, I got a continuing education certification, obtaining my specialization as a Technician in CAD 2D and 3D systems; once I completed that, I undertook a varied professional journey, moving from the production department to the commercial office. At Sitma, I’ve had the chance to participate in and complete a 4-month course on the fundamental principles of Project Management.
—————— What do you do at Sitma?
At Sitma, I’m part of the sales team. Specifically, within the business unit dedicated to E-logistics, I oversee the commercial management of postal operators. Over the last year and a half, the focus has been primarily on a major, strategic project that’s in-progress with Poste Italiane.
—————— What’s the most stimulating part of your work? What have you brought to Sitma?
My position grants me a certain transversal quality within the company, which means I’m in communication and have direct relationships with all areas and their respective managers. At the same time, being able to interact and collaborate with important clients facilitates growth, both personal (in terms of soft skills) and professional (the acquisition of new technical skills).
To Sitma, I’ve brought dedication to projects, tenacity, and a maximum commitment to achieving results. And sometimes even wine from my hometown.
—————— What specifically ties you to the company? What values do you share and what do you think are the ones to focus on?
My shared belief in the company’s baseline, founding values is definitely what ties me to it. Partnership with the client, an ethical approach, competence and passion are the cardinal points that I try to follow daily in my work.
—————— What do you do in your spare time?
In my free time I have various passions I try to pursue:
– Athletic: mountain biking and rugby
– Relaxing: video games, binge watching TV shows and challenging LEGO sets
– Exploration: road trips and excursions
– With the company: beach volleyball tournaments, go-kart races
—————— How would you describe yourself? Do you have a motto? If so, what is it?
I think I’m an honest, tenacious, and resolute person who makes a great teammate.
My motto is taken from my first rugby team: Le Düra, Süra! (It will be difficult…Onward!)
—————— A topical question on Covid-19 and Sitma – how did it affect you? What challenges did you face and how did you confront them? What is the positive side of this situation?
The lockdown, which seemed to come out of nowhere, was a hard hit for everyone at first. It wasn’t easy to manage having my family and friends blocked in another region, which had seemed close by until just a few days prior, and then suddenly became impossible to reach. The forced halt to all travel and the inability to visit clients initially created a lot of discomfort. However, just being adaptable helped bridge some gaps. Relationships could be maintained, even if at a distance, through video call systems; the country’s technological level improved; the general quality of work, I think, was optimized; and additionally, embracing remote working helped our planet take a nice deep breath.
