Sitma has always been oriented towards the development of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions to reduce waste: optimizing consumption is in fact the key factor to guarantee end users savings on costs and better quality of finished products.Sitma recognizes the importance of protecting and preserving the environment within strategic business decisions, which is why the company's commitment concerns the reduction of its direct impacts, R&D investments for sustainable innovation and the promotion of responsible behaviour along the value chain.
ECO-SUSTAINABLE ETHICS
Create innovative, environmentally friendly and biodegradable packaging using sustainable packaging materials that preserve and maintain product integrity of products, decreasing the impact that plastic components have on the environment and marine ecosystems is one of the various activities promoted by Sitma.In this regard, Sitma has already obtained the ISO 9001 - 14001 and 50001 certifications and has undertaken a series of paths in favour of environmental sustainability, including, by way of example, the one aimed at obtaining the Carbon footprint certification.

PAPER SOLUTIONS: providing the switch from plastic to paper packaging is the development project focusing on a novel paper-packaging technology that allows to use environmentally friendly & biodegradable plastic and paper (instead of non-recyclable plastic) as wrapping material for 2D and 3D items.
This project already obtained seal of excellence from European Commission in 2019 and has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under Grant Agreement Number 882661
